Claudeforce and Salesforce in Claude Pilot Guide

Quick answer
Claudeforce is Salesforce and Anthropic’s broader partnership; Salesforce in Claude is its first product. As of August 29, 2026, Salesforce in Claude is available to select pilot customers and is expected—not guaranteed—to enter open beta in September 2026.
The initial plugin has 37 prebuilt sales skills. Salesforce publicly names meeting preparation, deal-health review, and pipeline review, and describes centrally managed setup plus actions routed through existing Salesforce permissions and business rules. Treat these as pilot claims to verify in your own tenant, not as proof that every workflow, region, license, or control is ready.
Current availability boundary
| Surface | Current status | Planning rule |
|---|---|---|
| Salesforce in Claude | Select-customer pilot | Require written eligibility and live-tenant confirmation |
| Open beta | Expected September 2026 | Do not treat an expected date as committed GA |
| Initial skill set | 37 sales skills | Inventory the exact skills visible to your pilot org |
| Additional skills | Salesforce says late 2026 | Recheck release notes before depending on them |
| Service, Marketing, Commerce, Revenue, and other functions | Coming soon on the product page | Exclude from current ROI and control claims |
| Pricing and packaging | Subject to change | Obtain current commercial terms and regional eligibility |
The announcement also describes future integrations across Claude, Salesforce, and Slack. Those directions are relevant to architecture planning, but a future integration should not appear in an access request, control assessment, or business case as a current capability.
What the pilot is designed to do
Salesforce describes the plugin as bringing live revenue context and governed Salesforce actions into Claude. A seller could prepare for a meeting, review a deal, inspect pipeline, or run an approved workflow without navigating the Salesforce UI for each step.
The product page says the connection can reach Salesforce, Slack, and email context, while the news release also describes onboarding that can use Salesforce, Slack, and Claude connectors. Verify each connector independently. Record which system is the source of truth, what data crosses into Claude, which writes return to Salesforce, and whether email or Slack access introduces a separate permission and retention boundary.
Pilot acceptance plan
Choose three read-oriented cases and one reversible write case.
- Meeting preparation: compare every surfaced account, contact, opportunity, activity, and source link with Salesforce records visible to that user.
- Deal-health review: define the fields, time window, business rules, missing-data behavior, and human judgment needed before a health label is useful.
- Pipeline review: reconcile totals, filters, currencies, stages, close dates, sharing rules, and excluded records against a saved Salesforce report.
- Bounded update: allow one low-risk field change with preview, explicit confirmation, before/after evidence, duplicate protection, and rollback.
Test denied records, stale context, ambiguous accounts, conflicting Slack or email content, prompt injection, unsupported fields, partial completion, retries, and an action that business rules reject. A pleasant demo is not an operating control.
Pilot go/no-go evidence
Before expanding beyond the pilot, require:
- exact customer, org, edition, region, contract, Claude plan, and support boundary;
- admin connection owner, user assignment, permission-set and sharing behavior, connector scope, revocation, and offboarding;
- a verified inventory of the available 37 skills and their read/write effects;
- accuracy, denied-access, approval, audit, error, duplicate, and recovery results for named workflows;
- data handling, residency, retention, training, subprocessors, incident, and deletion terms;
- measured task outcome, user adoption, failure rate, reviewer effort, and total operating cost.
Use the 37 sales skills guide to build the inventory, the permissions and governance guide to test controls, the Claudeforce versus Agentforce guide to choose product direction, and the readiness check for a browser-local gate.
