What the product combines
Alibaba describes QwenWork International as bringing capabilities from QoderWork, MuleRun, and Wukong into one workplace AI platform. The official sources describe browser navigation, authorized desktop and local-file operations, multimodal generation, office documents, research, voice input, scheduling, web development, and Pages.
Treat that list as a capability map, not a blanket permission grant. Each task still needs four separate checks:
- Product access: Is the feature actually enabled on this account, plan, surface, and region?
- Data access: May the agent read the named file, workspace, website, or connected service for this purpose?
- Action authority: May it edit, send, schedule, purchase, deploy, or publish the proposed result?
- Output approval: Who checks correctness, rights, privacy, security, and business impact before use?
A safe first-session setup
1. Record the identity chain
Document the Google or email identity, linked Alibaba Cloud account, workspace, organization membership, plan owner, recovery owner, and offboarding procedure. A successful sign-in does not establish permission to use every workspace asset.
2. Start in the correct workspace
Use a personal workspace only for assets you own and an organization workspace only after membership, asset ownership, data handling, and usage controls are understood. Test whether generated files and Pages belong to the individual or organization and what happens when a member leaves.
3. Use a bounded reversible task
Begin with non-sensitive source material and a task that cannot contact customers, change production data, incur material cost, or publish externally. Save the prompt, inputs, enabled Skills or connectors, selected model, intermediate results, final output, and reviewer decision.
4. Review intermediate and final results
The product guide explicitly includes following Agent progress and reviewing intermediate results. Use that surface to catch wrong sources, expanded scope, unsafe tool calls, or costly loops before the final deliverable.
5. Add persistence last
Only enable Awareness, reusable Skills, connectors, scheduled tasks, or Pages after the one-time task is understood. Persistence can carry mistakes, stale context, excess permissions, or unintended publication into later runs.
Awareness, files, and connectors
Alibaba describes desktop Awareness as opt-in context that can retain working preferences and be switched off. Opt-in context is not proof that every remembered detail is current, appropriate, or authorized for a future task. Define what may persist, who can inspect or remove it, and when the agent must ask again.
For files and connectors, record the exact source, account, scope, purpose, destination, retention rule, and revocation path. Test a denied file, expired credential, removed membership, and disconnected integration. A connector being installed does not authorize every read or write it can technically perform.
Scheduled tasks and Pages
Scheduled tasks turn a one-time instruction into recurring execution. Before scheduling, define the owner, cadence, timezone, input freshness check, maximum duration or credits, allowed actions, notification path, retry behavior, stop control, and review deadline.
Pages can turn generated work into a public deliverable. Verify source and media rights, factual review, privacy, custom-domain ownership, database exposure, authentication, edit authority, monitoring, takedown, export, and recovery. A generated page preview is not publication approval.
